About  Our Department

The Department of Urology of the LSU Healthcare Network is on the cutting edge of diagnostic and treatment options for the genitourinary system. Covering all urologic subspecialties, our academic faculty is here for you to provide world-class, comprehensive care on a personal level.

Involvement in residency and fellowship training, as well as basic science and clinical research keeps us on the forefront of innovative patient care. We continually push the envelope of available treatment options for kidney, bladder, prostate and testicular cancer in urological oncology, offering robotic options and access to the most recent clinical trials.

Our experienced endourologists treat kidney, ureteral and bladder stones with state of the art technology. We have been pioneers in the area of male sexual medicine and genitourinary reconstruction, providing up to date options for erectile dysfunction, hypogonadism, urethral stricture disease, as well as infertility.

For women with incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse or complications from pelvic surgery, we are national leaders in the diagnosis and management of this problem and aim to restore patient’s quality of life utilizing an integrative approach with medication, physical therapy and minimally invasive surgical reconstruction.

Our pediatric surgeons boast the highest surgical volume in the region and are skilled to undertake even the most complicated congenital cases.
