About Our Department
LSU Behavioral Sciences Center offers leading regional and national resources for mental health care. We deliver both innovative and personalized treatment to patients with a wide variety of mental disorders with special expertise in those with medical and neurological complications.
Our clinical team provides skilled and empathetic care to the individual patient while addressing the full spectrum of mental health needs. Providers include Psychiatrists, Psychologists and Social Workers who treat adult or pediatric populations with emphasis on the family as a whole.
Our interdisciplinary approach to mental health includes skillful care guided by the most recent research findings and personalized combinations of medication and psychotherapy.
Clinical trials of novel drug therapies bring new and promising treatments to our patients. We are also able to provide electroconvulsive therapy for medication refractory conditions.
The LSU Behavioral Sciences Center also participates in the preparation of the next generation of leaders in clinical neuroscience and mental health care through our training programs in general Psychiatry, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychosomatic Medicine, and Psychology.
