Clinical Trials Office

LSU Health in New Orleans is committed to finding new ways to prevent, detect or treat disease in people, and these efforts involve a form of research called clinical trials.

After a proposed treatment, drug therapy or device is found to be helpful and safe in animals in laboratories, it must also prove to be safe and effective in humans. This evaluation period is known as a clinical trial. A clinical trial also can study human behavior.

Comprised of members of LSU Health New Orleans healthcare providers, the LSU Healthcare Network (LSUHN) services patients in outpatient clinics in the Greater New Orleans area.

The purpose of the Clinical Trials Office at LSUHN is to provide a single portal of expertise and best practices for LSU Health New Orleans healthcare providers that support clinical trials while seeing patients in their outpatient clinic.
